Portals Alternate Design
Fleurie’s Portals album has been a creative muse in my life for many years. As an ode to its role in inspiring my creativity, I wanted to make my own version of its album cover. The challenge was creating something that was reminiscent of the album’s original design, yet that had my own unique experience and style woven into it.
Art Direction
For the making of the photography, I collaborated with Ryan Gardner (photography: www.forhisglorymedia.net) and Ainsley Houghton (acting/modeling). My role as the director was to communicate the overall visual idea as well as the spirit of the project. While in the studio, I oversaw the photoshoot including the posing, photography, lighting, costume, backdrop, etc. Art direction is one of my favorite things in the world. The experience of watching a vision come to life is incredible, and the only thing that could make it better is getting to do it in collaboration with other creatives.
